This February

Have I told you that this month has always been my favorite time of the year? - not June when people spend their summer time by going to the beach, not December when people celebrating Christmas and having their white holiday.

But this month, the month in which I was born.

This month has given me some lessons through my conscience. The things that have coerced this stubborn self to be milder. Not to lose vigor, but to gain more tenderness.

At least,

I've learned that everything is temporary. It is not about the time that stops, but the alarm have just warned you to get up, really get up.

I've learned that everything has its portion. It's you who make it all the options.

I've learned that the heroes have a right to bleed, even me.

I've learned that the taste of my morning tea could be so much different. There's no certainty in the things we do everyday.

I've learned that there's no such thing called old love. Love never gets old.

I've learned that someone's presence would be very, very significant to me, I've been too independent all my life.

I've learned that spaces in my life are not all mine, there will be someone else's place in it. Admit it.

I've learned that engineering is somehow my way of thinking, logical and rigid. But the science part of me has given a huge space of imagination and wild dreams. I love how they collide and make sense.

I've learned how to make a decision in minutes. Not every decision needs to be considered in a long time. Think faster.

I've learned that this adventurous soul needs a break and make a shelter, before attacking the summit.

and,

I've learned that even a voyager has right to come back home.

No, I'm not a hard thinker. I'm just a believer of what we have reached today were all worth the hassle.

So happy birthday, to you, to me.

Two Sides

"I hate how an airport could give different feelings, even at the same time."
"I hate how it works, turning one side to another or, merging two sides at the same time, happy and sad."

"But at least it is my sign to know that I am already home, already back to you."

Letter to a Little Brother

Hey, little monster.

It's been a while since the last time I saw you laughing. You hate it when I say goodbye to you before my departure to somewhere. You know, I hate it, too.

But you are the true lover of me that you always wait for me to come home, even until your very last moment, you were there.

I was standing beside Mahakam, just two days before that day. I didn't say anything my mind was somewhere else. My eyes were staring blankly at the sea. They said that the worst side of the sea was how it separates the land, make a lot of people feel lonely and lonelier. You know, that was the time when I hate myself for being away from you, from home.

But, thank God. I was there holding your hand at your very last time. You smiled, I smiled.

Little monster, the memory of you is something I'll long remember in to my toothless age. I'll tell my future children how happy and remarkable my childhood was with you in it, tell them that they have a very tough uncle of all time. People say that I am the strongest woman they've ever met, they should know that you are the source of my strength.

So, little monster. You've been traveled far. Now you've found the light, come back home, come back to the place where you belong.
I still have to continue my journey here, reaching my dreams and your dreams, too. And of course traveling more miles to find the light just like you.

I'll see you when it's my time.

Love,
Sister
